Continuing education is an essential part of being a great builder. BPI (Building Performance Institute), PHIUS (Passive House USA), BSC (Building Science Corp) are just a few of the training resources through which I have gained knowledge. Over the years I have received certification as a Passive House Builder from PHIUS, a Building Analyst and Envelope Professional from BPI, and have taken various courses offered by BSC. Using principles learned from these various resources I build homes that are healthy, comfortable, durable, and energy-efficient. I strive to build my projects using ecologically responsible materials, advanced heating, cooling, and lighting to conserve energy and reduce carbon footprint, and not only meet today’s building codes but tomorrow’s.
Mark is like an architect, contractor, engineer, and design consultant rolled up into one.
We completely demolished our outdated kitchen, knocking down walls to the existing formal dining room, and started from scratch.
Prior to starting the project, he presented us with multiple options all having implications in terms of scope. He then began his archeological explorations! His communication was excellent every step of the way, even when we weren’t living in the home to monitor the progress. Never did he encounter a new curveball for which he was unable to come up with multiple solutions.
His intelligence and passion for creating beautiful spaces show through in the finished product, which was of impeccable quality and is by far our favorite space in our new home. We can’t wait to do our next project together!”
